The regular Airbrush Tan has a minimum 8 hour wait time to shower, so that the tan can develop. The Airbrush Express Tan has a 4 hour wait time to shower, and a richer bronzers in the solution. Airbrush Express is the recommended option, but we offer both so that our clients can ultimately decide what best suits them.
DOES XO GLOW SELL SELF-TANNING PRODUCTS?
- Yes, our self-tanners come in a mousse, lotion, and spray. Be sure to purchase a mitt for smoother application and to prevent product build-up on the palms.
- These products can be used as regular at-home self-tan products.
- We also suggest purchasing these products to prolong your Custom Airbrush Tan. Our self-tanning products have the same violet undertone as our professional solution that we use at XO Glow, so it’s a great way to keep that Mediterranean glow longer!
- Please do not mix other self-tanners with your XO Glow Custom Airbrush Tan, as the undertones may not match.
I’M SCARED, WILL I LOOK ORANGE?
Our solution here at XO Glow has a violet undertone, to give you more of a Mediterranean glow. An “orange tan” is not an option here. 🙂
WHAT DO I DO BEFORE MY AIRBRUSHING APPOINTMENT?
- Please schedule all manicures, pedicures, waxes, massages, or anything of the sort before your airbrushing, as these services may lift the tan from your skin.
- Please arrive showered, shaven (or waxed). Exfoliation is recommended 48-24 hours prior to appointment.
- We recommend scheduling wax appointments at least 24 hours before your custom airbrush tan.
- Leave skin bare. Do not apply cosmetics or heavy moisturizers. Anything oil-based creates a barrier between the solution and your skin, therefore not allowing for a proper application.
- Do not schedule any workouts until after your first shower.
- We advise all pregnant women to consult with their physician before any airbrushing appointments.
- Topical creams, including but not limited to acne creams, retinols can alter results. Please consult with your physician prior to the appointment.
- Chemical peels should not be scheduled same day or near the time of an airbrush tan.
- Please be sure to remove all previous self-tanner before your appointment. If you do have remnants of an older spray tan, spray booth, or self-tanners, please know that we will try our best but do not guarantee that these will not alter the results.
CAN I SCHEDULE A WAXING APPOINTMENT RIGHT BEFORE MY AIRBRUSHING APPOINTMENT?
We suggest a at least a 24 hour time period between hair removal and airbrushing. With that being said, depending on sensitivity levels, some people are able to get waxing earlier in the day, go home, take a shower, and return in the evening for an airbrushing.
WHAT DO I WEAR?
- We advise customers to wear cotton and loose clothing. Your tan develops even after you have left and very tight clothing can potentially alter final results. Also, although our solution is water-based, we do not guarantee any clothing, including wedding dresses. No tight socks, especially high ones. If you have long hair, please bring a hair-tie.
- During your appointment, it is your personal preference. Our airbrush experts are experienced and very professional. Whatever is left on, will leave a tan line. If you chose to wear undergarments, we suggest a darker color.
- WOMEN: Although it is not required, most women wear some sort of bottom undergarment. Disposable panties are available, if interested, please request one.
- MEN: Bottom required.
- If the weathers calls for rain or snow, please be prepared with a hood or umbrella to shield you from any water that could skew results.
WHY IS THERE A WAIT TIME TO SHOWER?
- The solution we use has two major components to it; a bronzer and a developer. The bronzer is to help guide us with spray application and to give you an idea of what it will look like after the first shower.
- It will get darker over the 8 hour wait time, or 4 hour for the Airbrush Custom Tan, or Airbrush Express, respectively.
- After the first shower the bronzer will come off, do not fear this, it is normal – what has developed with the develop will remain.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I LEAVE XO?
- Since your tan is still developing and needs time to settle, we ask that you not shower for at least 8 hours. (*Airbrush Express Tan* is 4 hours). This first shower locks in the color.
- We ask that you do not participate in anything that will make you sweat, until after your first shower.
- No creams/moisturizers/cosmetics until after your first shower.
- During your first shower, use soap and water. Do not let the water just run over you. Pat yourself dry.
- Do not use exfoliators, as this will remove the tan faster.
- After your first shower, we suggest moisturizing to keep your tan longer.
- To assist in prolonging your tan, we also sell the at-home version of our professional solution in a spray, mousse, or lotion. Applying this is a great option to keep your tan even longer. If interested, please inquire at the front desk or with your airbrush tech.
HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?
- Your tan can last anywhere from 7-10 days depending on the person and skin type. Showering often, shaving, sweating, pool/beach time can also shorten the life of an airbrush tan.
- Refrain from using abrasive exfoliants, as this will remove the tan faster.
- To assist in prolonging your tan, we also sell the self-tanner version of our professional solution in a spray, mousse, or lotion. Applying this days after your original tan, is a great option to keep your tan even longer. If interested, please inquire at the front desk or with your airbrush tech. (We do not recommend other at-home self-tanners, as the base color varies and will not blend well.)
CAN I AIRBRUSH TAN JUST MY LEGS, JUST MY ARMS, ETC.?
We only offer full body airbrushing (no half body, or just face, etc.), as we like to have an even color application. For pregnant women, sometimes they choose to forego the midsection. Some people choose to not spray their face, or other body parts. That is always an option, but the full amount is still charged for the service.
